An Amazing Place to Visit!

This is a truly amazing place to visit. They offer a “seed to cup” tour experience which walks visitors through all the key steps in growing, roasting and brewing a perfect cup of coffee. The plantation is a family business and the third generation owner is the one conducting the workshop. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient and answered all questions from the attendees in great detail. The group I happened to attend the workshop with was quite diverse including people with young kids, young couples, as well as solo attendees, and everyone had a great time, so much so that we ran over our designated 2-hour time by almost an hour. It was great to meet the owners who are truly passionate about their work. I would highly recommend everyone to pay them a visit!

Educational and fun

Had a lot of fun listening and walking and very education. Doing the activities in and outdoors was a huge plus. I recommend to put on bug spray as they do have some persistent flying insects in some parts of the farm, just nature stuff.

It was a wonderful tour and we lived staying in the karge plantation house. It was relaxing and perfect for a group of 70+ yo women.

Went down the wonderful, very informative coffee “rabbit hole” with this tour!!

This is an easy review to write. I was a little skeptical when my wife booked this tour on our recent trip to PR. The coffee plantation is near the town of Jayuya, PR. We like to travel the back roads and patronize local businesses wherever we go. Getting to Jayuya is an adventure through the mountains, so expect a bit of a long drive with winding curves that are worth the journey when you get to admire the views that await on top. Jayuya is known as "La Capital Indigena" (the indigenous capital) because of it’s many Taino Indian sites.
It was raining pretty hard the whole time we were at Cafe Hacienda Prosperidad and we were the only people signed up for the tour the day we were there. Didn’t matter to us because the most interesting part of tour to us was indoors, listening to Alberto talk about the history of the coffee industry in PR from past to present and every step of what it takes to get coffee from the plant into your morning cup of Joe. We also were able to take their green beans and roast them, weigh out a portion for a personal serving, and create a superb “pour over” cup of the best coffee I have ever tasted.
We bought a pound of medium roast beans and brought it home with us. We quickly decided to subscribe to their autoship online program and just received our first order…on time! Highly recommended!

A must visit for insular tourists and for the outside visitors

Visiting the heart of the Island is a trip I highly recommend. Even if you are not a coffee lover, learning how coffee is produced here is eye-opening. You get to see the whole process, from the fields to roasting the beans yourself and enjoying a fresh cup. Alberto, who owns the Hacienda, is a wonderful host, and his workshops make the visit even more worthwhile.
